Give Feedback on Assignment

1) Evaluate Student Work

To get to the screen to give feedback to student(s):

  1. Go to your Course Flow
  2. Click on the Course Flow Item you want to give feedback on
  3. Click on the content in the Student work column for the student you want to give feedback on
  4. On the top right of the window with the student's work, you will see two tabs:
    • Activity and messages: Any messages you write here will only be visible to you and the student. This is more of a chat compared to Finals remarks/comments.
    • Submission and evaluation: here is where you will enter a Score, complete a Rubric (graded or ungraded), evaluate students based on Learning goals, Checklist, and most importantly, Final remarks/comments. The options available here depend on what you set when you create a Learning Experience or a Worksheet.
  5. Click Mark as evaluated when you are done evaluating student work. There are 3 ways to do this. See the table below for visuals!
    • From the Student work view, click Mark as evaluated
    • From the All submissions view for a single student, click on the ... to the right of the student submission, then click Mark as evaluated
    • From the All submissions view for all students, click on the ... on the top right of the window, then click Mark all as evaluated

Note: students will NOT see any comments/grades/rubrics until Share evaluation with students and family has been clicked. This is by design!

Grades and comments are not shared (published) with students until the teacher chooses that!

2) Share Evaluation/Feedback with Students

When you have evaluated student work (all work has been Marked as evaluated), you must now share it with students. This is the equivalent of publishing grades and making it visible to students! There are 2 ways to do this:

  • From the Student work view: click on Mark as evaluated if you haven't already, then click Share evaluation with student and family.
    • This shares (publishes) feedback to the SINGLE student.
  • From the All submissions view, click the ... at the top right of the screen, then click Mark all as evaluated and share with student and family.
    • This shares (publishes) feedback to ALL students at the same time.
