Toddle is a Learning Management System (LMS) for K12 schools around the world. Riverdale uses this LMS for the Lower School, Middle School and Upper School. As a platform, Toddle will help teachers:

  • Create assignments
  • Share course materials
  • Provide robust feedback to students
  • Create and maintain curriculum
  • And much more!

Log In to Toddle

Access Toddle on the Web

  1. Go to toddleapp.com on a laptop or tablet web browser or click on the Toddle icon in my.riverdale.edu
  2. Click Sign in on the top right
  3. Click Teacher account if you are a teacher
  4. Click Student account if you are a student
  5. Click Google to sign in with your Riverdale Google Account

Note: a better mobile experience (phone displays) for Toddle will be coming in the Fall. For now, we recommend using Toddle on a laptop or tablet browser.

Access Toddle on iOS and Android (Students Only)

  1. Download Toddle Student for iOS (App Store Download) or Android (Play Store Download)
  2. Click Google
  3. Sign in with your Riverdale Google Account
  4. From here, you can access your:
    • Assignments and deadlines
    • Calendar
    • Announcements
    • Gradebook
    • Class Materials

Transitioning from Schoology

Almost everything available in Schoology has a new home in Toddle. Below you can see where each feature now lives.

Teachers

Although Toddle and Schoology are both learning management systems, there are distinct differences between these two platforms. The translation table below will help you think about assignments and materials you would have previously assigned in Schoology, and what the equivalent content types are in Toddle.

Students

There are various types of assignment submissions in Toddle, the table below will help you understand the different places you will submit content and material for your classes.

Toddle Submission Types
Assignment Type Explanation
Learning Experience: Simple This is a simple assignment. You can upload different types of files (documents, audio, video) or type a response in the submission box.
Learning Experience: Google Drive Submission Template This is a Google Drive Assignment. When you click on + Work, a copy of the Google Doc will be made, and you can work on this within Toddle or in Google Drive. You must submit the assignment from Toddle.
Learning Experience: File Submission Template This is a PDF or Image Annotation Assignment. This is most similar to Kami. When you click on + Work, a copy of the file/image will be made, and you can mark it up with various tools (text, handwriting, highlighting). You submit this from within Toddle as either a workbook or an annotated PDF.
Learning Experience: Workbook Template This assignment type is similar to a virtual whiteboard. When you click on + Work, a copy of the Workbook template will be made, and you can mark it up with various tools (text, handwriting, highlighting, images, audio, video, and more).
Worksheet This is a quiz (timed or untimed) with different types of questions: multiple choice, free response, true/false, fill in the blank, graphing, drawing, table, matching, video response, audio response, and more.
AI Tutor This is an AI assignment type that is similar to Flint Activities. Your teacher creates and customizes the activity, and you receive feedback from the AI tutor in addition to feedback from your teacher. These tutors are wonderful ways to practice class material in different ways!

Note: to submit an assignment on Toddle, you must make sure you click ✔️ Mark as done. This will submit the assignment to your teacher for grading!
