StatusUp-to-date for the 2023-2024 school year.

Attendance for all divisions must be entered consistently and accurately to ensure the school knows the whereabouts of all students at all times.

Lower School

Lower School daily attendance (also know as master attendance) should be entered by homebase teachers in the Veracross Faculty Portal by 9am each day. Specials teachers do not need to enter attendance at this time since we do not take Class Attendance for the lower school.

Middle and Upper School

You are required to report attendance for every class of the day using the Veracross Faculty Portal. Many teachers find it easier to take attendance at the beginning of each class rather than entering all of your attendance at the end of the day. You are welcome to do the same.

An automated email will be sent out at 9:20am and 11am every school day to all teachers of a class that have not had attendance taken yet. After 11am the Hill attendance officer sends a semi-automated email to families of students whose whereabouts are unknown, it's critical that we have attendance data accurately entered before this goes out.

Near the end of the school day, an email is sent to all students that have been marked "Not in Class" with the teacher cc'd indicating that they have been given a 'cut' and can contact the attendance officer to explain the absence.

Please use the “notes” section of Veracross to indicate whether a student is excused from class by another obligation (Testing, sports event, etc).
