Drive for Desktop
To save a file offline, make sure you have an app that can open your file. Note: Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides cannot be set as offline using the Drive for Desktop app.
- Click the Drive for desktop Menu
. - Click Open Google Drive folder
. - Right-click the file or folder you want to save offline.
- Click Drive for desktop and then Available offline.
- Once your file is saved offline, you'll see a green check mark next to it.
iPhone and iPad
Save files for offline use
- Open the app for Google Drive.
- Next to the file, tap More
. - To save a preview of the file offline, turn on Available offline.
Find files you saved for offline access
- Open the app for Google Drive Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
- Tap Menu
and then Offline.
Android

- Open the Drive app.
- Next to the file, tap More .
