Intro
Riverdale automatically populates your Google Contacts with Riverdale names, email addresses, and in some cases phone numbers. To access Google Contacts directly, navigate to: https://contacts.google.com. If you are in other Google Workspace services (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) you can look up people by name (i.e. Matthijs van Mierlo) or email (i.e. mvanmierlo@riverdale.edu) to communicate with them.
Directory
Riverdale automatically maintains the directory in Google Contacts. This will show up to date information on all employees and students on campus. To access the directory:
- Go to https://contacts.google.com
- Click on Directory
You can search the directory, and also add Labels to contacts if needed (for easier organization).
Importing
If you have contacts (not Riverdale) that you would like to import into your Riverdale Google Account, please follow these instructions below.
Exporting
If you have contacts that you would like to export from your Riverdale Google Account (a.k.a. end of employment, or other circumstance), please follow these instructions below.
Labels
You can create Contact Groups (i.e. Labels) in Google Contacts. This makes it easier to email groups of employees/students. If you would like to create Contact Labels, please follow these instructions below.
Common Issues
Incorrect or Outdated Riverdale Contacts (Name Change)
When an employee or student changes their name or has their Riverdale email address changed, you may encounter situations where the incorrect name, email or user gets populated when trying to add them Google resources, etc. To fix this, delete the incorrect or outdated contact(s) from https://contacts.google.com. These contacts will re-populate automatically based on the up to date directory.
