â Tools We Don't Recommend
Please refrain from using the following generative A.I. tools due to privacy and/or security concerns. The list below is a non-exhaustive list. If you have questions about whether a tool is safe to use or not, submit a tech ticket by emailing support-ticket@riverdale.edu.
đ General rule of thumb: if a tool is free, it tends to be free for a reason. Many companies share personal data with 3rd party providers. Keep your data safe! And when in doubt, ask someone from the Tech Team.
Tool | Reason to avoid... |
---|---|
descript | Sharing personal data (including voice data) with 3rd party providers |
My AI (from Snapchat) | Location details shared with OpenAI for "better" responses |
YouChat | Personal information and activity shared with 3rd party providers |
Poe | Unclear data practices with 3rd party providers |
đĨī¸ Prompt Engineering Resources
Google has extensive resources for prompt engineering found here: https://developers.google.com/machine-learning/resources/prompt-eng
If you have questions about prompt engineering, start by browsing the link above.
Remember, for general prompt engineering:
- Be specific
- Be even more specific :)
- Give context in the prompt related to:
- Resources the prompt should refer to (attachments, text blocks, images, etc.)
- The type and length of output (table, lesson plan, CSV format)
- The tone of the output (informal, scientific, analytic)
- Iteratively revise your prompts!
