The New York Times

Riverdale Country School students (middle and upper), faculty, staff, and administrators have full digital access to the NYTimes.com website.  You must register using your Riverdale email address. 

Activation Steps

  1. If you are logged into the NYTimes website with either your Riverdale email or a personal account, sign-out from the NYTimes.com website
  2. Visit nytimes.com/passes  
  3. If you don't have an account, click Create Account, then click Continue with Google
    • Log in with your Riverdale email address and passphrase
  4. If you have signed into NYTimes.com with your Riverdale email address before
    • Click Log in and then click Continue with Google
    • Log in with your Riverdale email address and passphrase
  5. Check your Riverdale email for a confirmation message
    • If you can't find the email, check your Spam or Junk folder
  6. Click on the confirmation link in the email to validate your email address
  7. You now claimed your NYTimes Pass!

Tips and Tricks

You have successfully claimed a Pass when you see the Start Your Access screen.  Now you can enjoy seamless, full access to NYTimes.com, INYT.com and NYT mobile apps from any location, on or off campus, just by logging into your NYTimes.com account. You may download NYTimes mobile apps at nytimes.com/mobile.

HINT: Remain logged into your NYTimes.com account to have seamless access to NYTimes.com and our mobile apps for the duration of your Pass. Visit nytimes.com/passes to view your Pass expiration timestamp at any time.

Activation Steps

I don't have a Financial Times account yet...

  1. Go to ft.com and click on Sign in on the top right
  2. Click on Register if it's your first time logging in
  3. Click on Register with Google after clicking the checkbox to confirm your age
  4. Follow the registration instructions
  5. Then log out!

I have a Financial Times account already...

  1. Go to the following registration link for Riverdale
  2. Type in Riverdale Country School into the textbox
  3. Click Next
  4. Click Select next to Riverdale Country School
  5. Enter your Riverdale email address and click Next. An activation email will be sent.
  6. Click on the Activation link in your Riverdale email
  7. Next to Already have an account? Click Sign in
  8. Sign in with your Riverdale Google Account and follow the prompts.
